Guys, does anyone make a insulated shift boot for our cars? If someone does, I would think they could sell a ton of them on this forum. Appreciate the help and thanks.

Guys, I am actually looking to diminsh the noise coming from my shifter, hence, the insulated shifter boot. Anybody with an aftermarket shifter knows about noise transfer. Mine is actuallly in storage for the winter.

ok, that makes sense. you could make one yourself using the carpet insulation they use on various cars. have it sewn or glued to the inside of the shifter boot.
I assume you have already insulated everything else under the console and the carpet.
If you're running a Hurst shifter, I cut a piece of new heater hose 3/4" X 3" long, (remove **** and boot) slide it down onto the shifter shaft (dry) under the **** and reinstall parts, my noise went away (installed three years ago) I checked it last month, hose section hasn't moved.
There are a number of ways to attack this situation, via simple DIY methods. And, here are just a few: Rubber insulation; Splitting a tennis ball; and, simply slipping your new custom leather shift boot OVER the orginal. The last method is what I personally prefer to use with my Hurst Short Throw Shifter. The install is clean and easy, no fuss, no mess, no cutting, and, no modifying necessary. Simply, squeeze the plastic retainer ring that is attached to the o.e. letaher shift boot, and, slip the new one over it. Pull and adjust to properly center and place the new shift boot in place. Good luck to you.
