Congratulations on the ride and welcome to the Forum.
Very nice looking Vert! Looks exceptionally clean and maintained.
You've got to tell us of the acquisition process in obtaining it.
Thanks for the welcome from all.
I have always wanted a Corvette but at 6'6" was never able to fit. Every couple of years I would convince myself that I could fit. I drove by a local dealership about 100 times with intention to stop and see if I could fit. I was so afraid of having to deal with a salesman that I would keep avoided the encounter. I finally stopped in and sat in a 2005 coupe. I had plenty of legroom but not enough headroom due to the design. Behind the head area, there is a roll bar as part of the frame? My head hits this if I put my head back. I left depressed and wondering why us tall guys can't fit in the sportscars. Days later my wife suggested a convertible. I thought it was a joke, always having the top down. It turns out the the convertibles do not have that roll bar design and there is way more headroom. Wow, now I'm getting somewhere, I thought. The dealership was difficult to work with and still had a premium on the 2005's with the 06's hitting the lot. They wouldn't budge. Well, my wife and I decided to rent a vert for our 15th anniversary. Rented a 2003 and found out that the C5's had way more room that the C6. And damn are they fast! Started researching for a used C5 vert and a friend suggested Corvette Palace out of Austin, Texas. I found my 2004 with 3481 miles on it. Shannon at Corvette Palace was awesome and I am 100% pleased with my purchase. I bought it without seeing the car in person. I recommend CP to all of those looking for a low mileage Vet. They were so much easier to work with than your typical dealership. So, that's my story and I'm a happy tall guy with a Vette
Absolutely beautiful car!! Wow - that color is gorgeous. Welcome!!!
My husband, like you, is tall (6'6") and he really has a hard time in the coupes as opposed to the verts. Same with any large SUV (I've got a Denali) that has a sunroof.
Finally, after twenty years of hard work, I officially have my first Corvette. A 2004 Lemans Blue Vert. I'm in love and have a major case of permagrin. I bought it the first part of November and after reviewing CF on a daily basis (It's addicting) I finally decided to jump on in and make new friends.
Yes, I am waving
Thank you to CF member DeeGee who lives in my area (Vegas) and has been very helpful answering my car care questions.
Regards,
Jeff
Hi Jeff. Glad I could help and welcome aboard
Beautiful Vert and a great color
I recognise that picture. Looks like Red Rock to me
Damn NICE. When I was first looking for a Vette I said NO WAY to blue without ever even seeing one in person. I told myself I could get a Toyota if I wanted a blue car. (I still have only seen one in person but it was at night.)
But now I've seen some quality pics on this website and yours looks awesome. I'd have to say it's my fourth fav color. Congrats.
