IMHO: The SS inserts are very attractive, especially on a darkly painted vehicle: Black, Spiral Grey, etc. As for myself, on my favorite daily driver Millenium Yellow C5, I have the 3D laser cut acrylic letters for the rear bumper. And, I must say that I really like the look. Refer to any Mid America, Ecklers, or, Corvette America catalog.

Depends on the color of the vehicle but I haven't seen one yet that looked bad with SS. Just some look better than others. Another choice I like is the brakelight red, especially on blk, my or wht.
Post the color of your Vette and I'll bet someone with have pics of how it looks with SS.
I tried two sets of plastic stick ons, the first set was to flimsy and came off with in a month. The second set was a hard acrylic and looked very nice, but I didn't care for how much they protruded from with in the CORVETTE cavity.
I purchased the SS, painted them black and now it's perfect, not flimsy, they blend in perfectly with the rear and they don't protrude a bit.
Do the stainless stick out farther than the area recessed for the letters?
No they don't! They are about as flush as your going to get them. I wanted black, so when I got them I painted them and stuck them on. It's been a year and a half with no problems and still look great.

Thanks, flush was what I was trying to ask! I saw a car with letters that stuck out way too far IMO.

What are you guys using to paint the SS letters? Any kind of prep work like scuffing/primer or finish work like sanding or clearcoating? I have some of the plastic protruding ones that I was going to machine down at a shop on campus but I have a SS set that I could just paint as well. Just didnt know how best to paint them.
