I think you are going to need to clarify your question, but I would go with the stainless steel.

IMHO: The SS inserts are very attractive, especially on a darkly painted vehicle: Black, Spiral Grey, etc. As for myself, on my favorite daily driver Millenium Yellow C5, I have the 3D laser cut acrylic letters for the rear bumper. And, I must say that I really like the look. Refer to any Mid America, Ecklers, or, Corvette America catalog.

Depends on the color of the vehicle but I haven't seen one yet that looked bad with SS. Just some look better than others. Another choice I like is the brakelight red, especially on blk, my or wht.

Post the color of your Vette and I'll bet someone with have pics of how it looks with SS.

Depends on the color

I think SS looks good on a dark Vette

Do the stainless stick out farther than the area recessed for the letters?

I bought a set of the black plastic/vinyl ones that stick on.....and well....they are crap.

I figured they would be MUCH thinner and at least be somewhat flush....SO not the case.

Stick out way to far for me...looks like cheap crap.

Never seen the stainless ones...have to see them on a car before going that route.

Hell I coulda gotten some black nailpolish and come up with a better look than those black stick on ones.

I tried two sets of plastic stick ons, the first set was to flimsy and came off with in a month. The second set was a hard acrylic and looked very nice, but I didn't care for how much they protruded from with in the CORVETTE cavity.

I purchased the SS, painted them black and now it's perfect, not flimsy, they blend in perfectly with the rear and they don't protrude a bit.

No they don't! They are about as flush as your going to get them. I wanted black, so when I got them I painted them and stuck them on. It's been a year and a half with no problems and still look great.

Thanks, flush was what I was trying to ask! I saw a car with letters that stuck out way too far IMO.

What are you guys using to paint the SS letters? Any kind of prep work like scuffing/primer or finish work like sanding or clearcoating? I have some of the plastic protruding ones that I was going to machine down at a shop on campus but I have a SS set that I could just paint as well. Just didnt know how best to paint them.

I've seen some that do, good for catching the wash mitt etc.

I bought a set from Corvettes of Houston, they don't stick out at all.
