Default Missing a nut

While I had my 02 down for Hud installation, CLB installation and hurst shifter installation, (piece o' cake, btw), I noted the jam nut that was SUPPOSED to come with the classic hurst shift **** was missing. I got the set up from Jegs so I called and requested a replacement nut, otherwise the **** tightens up with the pattern upside down. They contacted hurst for a replacement jam nut. I waited a week and called again. Seems Thanksgiving week and the week after, they were doing inventory so I had to wait a couple more weeks. Friday, three weeks after i got the original short order, a nut came in the mail. (Insert your guess here regarding what happened.) Ok, the stock thread is a 9/16 - 18 so what I got was an Ace hardware zinc nut sized 3/8 - 16. Now that's what I call quality control and customer service. The last hurst **** I installed had a specially necked down nut which had a low profile when installed that was barely visible. Guess I'll amble down to Ace and get a plain old zinc nut for $.07 and get by.

Quite honestly, I have had better luck finding and buying the right harware from a nearby ACE Hardware store than ever actually receiving all the nuts and bolts you are supposed to get when you order a specialty car part. These important connecting parts, as well as, adequate instructions in English, generally seem to be missing more often than not. BTW, let me tell you that at nearly 1:15 AM in the morning, your title thread is pretty damn funny. Cheers.

I was thinking the same thing and opened this expecting to see all sorts of funny stuff written here...

"Sorry for your loss" "None to spare here" "Look in the last bed you slept in" "Did it hurt when you lost it?" that sort of thing...

Anyway...

Oh yeah, and edensknight is right about ACE... they have most of what you need in many cases such as this...

Sometimes it is best (and easier) to just get the part yourself.
