Anytime you do something electrical it's smart to disconnect the neg battery cable. Just a safety thing. Just about any instruction will have that as the first step, when doing an electrical job. Not always necessary, just very good habit.

My .02 worth says NO. I have put it on 2 cars; 97 Z-28 Camaro mn6, and on my 03 mn6 vette. Never disconnected the battery on either car. The above posts comment about disconnecting the battery is the safest proceedure, I do agree with. CAGS is not an intense operation. Good Luck!!!!

For CAGS, I believe thats more for liability than necessity.

It would have been easier to disconnect the battery than type this post and wait for replies,,,

BUT then again, the really best way around this is to toss the CAGS Eliminator in the trash and just drive the car like a Corvette should be drivien, and that means no shifting at 1200 RPM's....

Yeah, it's amazing how quick you can weld a wrench to a starter.

I've noticed for awhile, your posts always have a negative aura about them. What's your deal? He learned something, it's what the forum is for.

You must read all the posts about CAGS, those are the ones I reply to in this way.

They always make me laugh. I can never imagine how that thing could get in youir way driving a Corvette.

What other posts are you talking about... ???
