the transmission is leaking.
I just got under there and it's pretty wet.
For the ones that took it to a shop how much did it cost and for the doityourselfers how difficult was the job?
Thanks
When I purchased my 98 used it had tranny problems. I had the dealer I was buying it from fix it before I bought it of course. they took it to a Lee Myles tranny shop, they actually had to call chevy to figure out how to fix it. the repair just to rebuild it was outrageous. wish I ahd better advice good luck with the repair.
In my old 97 Z28 6spd a local tranny shop charged me $350 labor plus parts (which I found myself online at D&D for very reasonable prices). Only thing here is I pulled the tranny myself and re-installed it. So I couldnt tell you how much it would cost if they were to pull the tranny and re-install themselves to.

Really depends on where it is leaking from and what the problem is. I had the seal between the tranny and the rear differential leak on mine and it cost $650 to fix - thankfully covered under warranty.
