The Lesson!

They trully are mans best friend. Sorry to hear about your loss...

A few years ago, my wife and booked a two week European cruise that ended in Rome. From there I had reserved a villa for an additional week in No. Italy at Lake Como.
Guess what after 10 days we jumped ship in France and flew back home because we were missing our dogs!
How weird is that! We are certifiably off the scale animal lovers... They aren't just dogs they are people with fuzzy faces.
I now am a believer of my favorite quote.
"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
You should try doing some volunteer work for an organization benefiting people with mental and physical disabilities--that will really make any problem you have seem to be a joke! I was a boardmember of one for 4 1/2 years and it can definitely change you for the better.
I know what your going through. I had to have my Boxer put to sleep on October 27. By far the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. He was only 7 years old and had a horrible type of cancer (hemangiosarcoma). Basically he had a heart based tumor. Each week will get a little easier just hang in there. I first got my 99 Coupe back in March. At first I wouldn't let him ride in it. Amazing how things change when your best friends health begins to take a turn for the worst. The last two months I took him just about eveywhere I went except to work. 80Lb. boxer in a corvette, placed a rug and a sheet on the passenger side seat though. Amazing the looks you get with a boxer in a corvette. Hopefully one day I will get to see him again at Rainbow Bridge.
For fifteen years you were with us. You watched over and protected us. You were always there when we needed you. You never caused any trouble or pain for anyone .But, the time came for you to leave us. I know you are in a much finer place than you left. But you left this place much better just by you being here. The most important thing to me was you protected my family when I wasn’t here. One the hardest things I’ve ever done was watch as you left. Now, the hardest thing is saying “Good-bye” to my friend. Watch over us as I know you can, and will, knowing you can never be replaced. May you forever rest in the peace you deserve my friend, knowing that we will meet again.
You are truly loved and will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Good-bye My Buddy
The above is something I wrote when we had to put down our beloved dog..."Springer" He was a cross between Aussie shepard and blue tick. We have another now...1/2 golden retriever,1/2 leopard hound (catahula). They each have their own personality. Get another dog....soon. We know how you feel, sorry for your loss..........
A preacher I was listing too one day was reading questions on the air from different folks. One has stayed with me all these years.
A lady asked if he believed that dogs went to heaven. I half way expected him to give some relpy that would tell her that it was a silly question or something like that. Instead, in his rough voice, he gave a reply I have never forgot. He said that "I believe that the God I love and serve, loves me so much that if I need my little poodle for Heaven to be complete, he will be there when I get there!" The Gospel of John tells us in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, (Jesus Christ) that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus) shall never perish, but have eternal life". God has given us many wonderful gifts, and if He has given us His Son, how could he withhold from us any good thing? Merry Christmas!! PS DOG spelled backward is "GOD"!
