98 convertible - when weather gets cold the top rear corners of both windows "pinches" the top, stays on outside of top - won't seal properly - it's wearing the corners of the top - warm weather it's fine ? anyone else experience this and/or solutions - thanx
I had this in my 98 vert. There are tip in tip out adjustments inside the doors. It adjusts the glass a bit, that will cure it. This happened back in 98 so I forgot just how I did it. This was common in the early verts.

PM me with you e mail address. I have some notes I made from a previous post on this problem.
My 2000 has the same exact problem. It has started to tear the convertible top so I have been struggling to push the window in as I close the door. My daughter rode with me yesterday and noticed that the passenger side window is doing the same thing.
Thanks for the fix tip. I will get my hubby to take a look.
That's a great link, but I did not see where it showed how to tilt the window in to not hit the top. I'd like to try that before I try raising the top itself as the link suggests.
Can someone enlighten me where I need to look for the window adjustment?
My newly purchased '00 Vert does this as well. I am planning to install the Window valet to resolve this issue. CLosing the windows after closing the doors makes the windows seal properly.

Hammie,
I haven't done it yet on our 2000, and would suggest reading all the info first, but that said, the tip in adjustment info is in our 2000 FSM.
See: Volume 3, Air/Wind Noise Door Window, page 8-800, corrective Action #2 (for the spec)
See: Volume 3, Window Tip-In Adjustment - Door, page 8-1134 (for the procedure)
Note our 2000 book notes requiring a #6 inverted Torx Socket, and that's really small, a 1/4 inch socket is still a bit big, on ours it looks more like a standard SAE or Metric 6-point socket will work (instead or Torx).
I had the same problem with my "98. Buds Chevy is one of the bigger Vette dealers in Ohio. They pulled the door panels and moved the whole window forward. Said the tip in / out adjustment wouldn't have worked. The fix cost around $100 and works great.
