So after a couple months of ownership, I pretty much feel that the level of interior lighting in the coupe is teh suck. The lights in the bottom of the interior mirror are OK but the rear compartment lights and the underdash lights just don't do much to effctively light up the interior at night.
Anyone have any suggestions for improving the lighting so I can actually see inside the car at night? Can you just go with higher wattage bulbs? Are there LED replacement bulbs?
If I had the know how I would replace every light with a red one. I like it on the dark side in the cockpit at night and the green is just too bright. When I turn it down to where I like it I can see the Guage pod but not the radio controls.
Used to be able to get lightbulb dye years ago. I had a 55 Chev with all red interior lights and dash lights. Just dipped the bulb in the dye and let it dry. Never had a problem with the dye burning off.
Changed mine over to red LED's and they work great. There are a few how-to-do's here on the forum. Do a search for LED's. You'll like the results and the project is not that hard with the exception of the HVAC and Radio but if you take your time they works out great.
