Default Oil Temp

What is a normal oil temp?
I ran it alittle hard today for a few minutes & noticed that the oil temp got up to 216. I am assuming that this is still well with in acceptable limits. Am I correct? After a few minutes of just cruising it came down to 210. Thanks in advance & Merry Christmas!

Perfectly normal. Mine runs in the 210 range, give or take 5 with normal cruising. If I start getting on it, it'll go up to 220-230 range, sometimes going to 240. Then goes down when I get out of super pursuit mode. I believe you should start worrying anywhere above 275. And if I'm not mistaken, a warning will come on before it hits 300.

Well within the "normal" range.

The fans are set to come on at something like 220 in low and 230 in high (or when the AC is on), so with the coolant running in a band of about 195 to 230, the oil will follow. On the track, even with an oil cooler, I see 250-270 for my oil temps.

The "rev limiter" on the oil is #320 F. My "old" 02 Z got to 310 a couple of times on the track and routinely ran 285-300 on track days. Nothing "bad" happened to the car for 1 and 1/2 years, but I did change the oil after each trip to the 300's. For some reason my "new" 02 Z runs quite a lot cooler, max of 275 so far at the track. Both cars bone stock.

Just a suggestion, maybe you should get yours checked out. Those temp's are to low, or you have some great mods.

I agree those temps are too low. 180-200 in the winter and 210-220 normal summer driving. and a min of 200 before you romp on it.
Your engine block works best between 205-220 degrees.

In winter I put speed tape over the screens to block off air to the engine bay.

I am with Subdriver, 250-270 with oil coolers.
