in the tech tips section they recommend a kenwood unit that will play mp3's as well. So you dont need to stay stock.

also, the ipod2car interface will control basic functions of the ipod

you are correct. Kenwood made the only aftermarket CD changer that could be operated from the factory head-units CD controls. You also needed to buy a protocol adapter to get it to work. That's great - 'cept Kenwood no longer makes it anymore.

If there was a drawback to this setup, it was that there is no "folder change" button on the factory head unit. So you'd need to make MP3 CD's that didn't have the songs grouped into differing folders. Though, you could just group them by individual disks (hence the "changer" part).

If you can find one still... grab it !!!

PM me if interested. C5-Girl gets first dibs!
I did it, you can buy the harness from Fitchner Chevrolet. Make sure you have the stock Bose Radio or it won't work. The radio without Bose does not have the plugins in the rear. Any questions e-mail me I can walk you through it.

Olive,

I totally agree with Scott_FX. Ipod is a pretty good way to go. Can hold way more music than any CD changer, plus you dont have to install anything if you're using the "iTrip". You can always hard-wire the iPod into your stock head unit without having to worry about the "iTrip", which is what I would recommend. Either way, take the iPod route. Its an easy install that can be done by yourself/S.O. on a sat. afternoon.

As for the clear turn signals, check with west coast corvettes.

Good luck!

Or any other quality MP3 player. CD's are dying fast and its nice to get out front of the curve. I have converted all my CD's and vow to never purchase another.
