The stop screws IMO were one of the reasons i chose an aftermarket shifter.
As far as the springs, that all depends on you. I beleive i went with two springs on each side...basically as stiff as i could possibly get it. And again the adjusting screws for the springs, are there to adjust to your personal taste.
Do you really need the stop screws...no, but then again you're missing out on another great feature of the shifter.
Chris
I am using the lighter outer spring only in each side and I have removed the shift stops. The instructions say to screw the spring screws in something like 3 turns to start. The less they're in the easier it is the shift.
You don't need to use the shift stops, but if you do make sure you use some Loctite on them. A number of people have had these loosen up to the point where you can't get the 1/3/5 and/or 2/4/6 shifts to engage until the stops are backed out.
I have the instructions here but they weren't much help with these questions
Chris what do the stop screws do exactly? I've had it in without them for a couple months. And do you mean you have 2 springs on each side!? that's hardcore
