Shifter

If I replace my 6-sp shifter do I have to replace my **** or does it twist off ?

Most aftermarket shifters will accept the stock ****.

How does my stock shifter **** come off in an 03 vert ?

Yo,........Gary,......when you see

whats out there you won't want the stock shifter anyway!!!!

I took the black anodised "hurst" pistol grip and drilled about 1/2 inch deeper (so it would sit looow)

and taped proper threads and I just dig it the most!!!!!!

There are different methods of removing the shift **** key: prying up with screwdrivers/pliers, prying up with two paint can lid lifters, and my method of a makeshift slide hammer using vise grips with a long 1/4-20 bolt & a socket as a slider (pm me if you want more detail). This is the hardest part of the project.

My choice was a C6 shifter, but like exhaust sound, it is a very subjective choice.
