Read a small blurb in a mag about a Corvette SS coming out next year which will be the big brother to the Z06....again meant for GM and Corvette to enter that Foreign Market. Anyone heard or read anything on this?
I might have read the same thing, but didn't really get any spec on it. I did hear that is was going to be a big brother of some sorts with HP in the 600's. Who knows!

I heard/read the same thing, with the ls9 engine? I also saw a pic of it and it had a double air intake/scoop on the hood/front grille.
There are Corvette protoypes running around the Detroit-metro area with an Eaton-type supercharger on them. Talk around town is that GM wants to rate them at 575 HP. Today's LS7 engine is rated by GM at 505 horsepower, but on calibrated chassis dynos it makes approximately 453 RWHP, which corrects to approximately 533 crankshaft horsepower.
The talk around town is that these engines are not 428s - 7.0L. The talk is that they are 388s - 6.36L, with a 4.125 inch bore and a 3.622 inch stroke.
The supercharged engines are in response to the soon to be released new Viper.
Probable time to public introduction, IF GM gives the go ahead, is 2008 model-year.
