Default Cleaner for Halltech Stinger??

Which cleaner is used for the Halltech Stinger? Can the Blackwing cleaner be used or is there a specific one that needs to be used for this?

I use Simple Green to Clean, my K&N.
I suspect any good General Purpose clenaer would work for you

I've read on this forum in the past that many use a 50/50 solution of Simple Green/water. They say to spray the solution on the outside, let it sit for an hour and then use a water hose from the inside spraying out. That's what ima do when the time comes.

That sounds good but do I need to worry about "re-oiling"? The Blackwing kit comes with the cleaner and the an oil you apply after cleaning it.

Use Simple Green to clean and K&N oil to re-lube. Be advised that verry little oil is required. Too much oil can foul your MAF sensor wires.

If I oil it this time of year and let it sit on some newspaper/towels for a couple of weeks, I assume it would be difficult to overdo the oil? Within reason of course. Do you agree?

If the oil drips, you have applied too much. Spray with a sweeping motion and don't keep the spray can stationary while you are doing this. Still, letting it sit for a while can't hurt anything.

Simple green works well for cleanimg the filter. Be sure to allow the filter to dry completely, and, re-oil any cotton based media filter such as the K&N with K&N oil kit. The Blackwing filter is made of a special synthetic media, and, should be re-oiled with the Blackwing synthetic filter oil.

I put to much oil on and didn't let it dry out enough in my 1999 Z28...that made for a fun WOT experience!
