ok i have a question, i called him last night and he said that the car is mine because i put 10% down on the car and doing the loan monday. but i checked out ebay and he never took the car off he just bids on it... is he trying to outbid everyone?
Hmm, thats odd. I don't know why he would try to outbid everyone. I think if the car sells on ebay, he has to pay fees. Why wouldn't he just take it down? Maybe he's just trying to play a little to see if it'll sell for a grand or two more? If you guys have a deal and you put down a deposit, a deal is a deal. Hopefully it'll work out. Maybe you should call him and ask about that. Seems odd.

It doesn't happen often, but it can happen when a dealer buys it at auction, misreads the market, or the market changes and can't flip it soon enough. I bought a Jag S Type 4.0 recently for $1,000 less than the dealer paid at the auction for it (I saw the Manheim results). It was going to cost him more to hang onto it, pay interest, transport it to another auction, etc.
My timing turned out to be good. He hadn't sold it after two attempts on eBay and was anxious to deal when I contact him after the auction ended. For our mutual protection, he relisted it with a "buy it now" that we agreed on and he let me know the instant the auction listed so I could grab it. It was an outstanding deal at $15.5k and made my wife a very happy woman.
