What is the best tire for traction at the drag strip for a week end warrior. I have to drive 150 mile round trip to the track. Not enough room in the vert for slicks and jack.
'02 vert
315 gears
363RWHP
8.08 1/8mile@90.7MPH on original run craps
If you NEVER drive in the rain, the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD are among the best dry surface-only tires. However, as a daily driver, you C5 can do no better than the Goodyear GSD3s. They have excellent traction - dry AND wet, and last longer than many other super high-performance tires.
For a compromise tire, drive to the track, race and drive back, the Nitto 555R drag radials are pretty good. OK in the rain, OK for racing. You can do better for either, not both.
been seeing a lot of guys for daily driver going with the kumho ESTA ASX...... not sure how good of a track tire it is.
my ride came with them. the quietest tires i've seen in a vette as of yet. f1's are one of the worst for noise
tomorrow trying out the wide ovals.
as for track use..well, thier street tires, but once u get moving thier ok.

These are the tires I used to use before upgrading to there new NT-01s for more traction. I would go with the Nitto 555R for what you want I loved mine until I modded the he@@ out of my car and needed something better
