Hold out unless you can get yourself into a GrandSport or ZR-1.

Hate to differ, and with all due respect but I'd have to respectfully disagree,of course, JMHO.

I passed up a Grand Sport coupe, and a '91 ZR1 for my 2000 FRC!!! Its
still better all around than either the GS or the ZR1, to me.

The GS was 20k, the ZR1 24k, I paid 24k for my C5, I thought why pay 20k for a 10 yr old car, or 24k for a 14 yr old car, when I can get better for around the same money!( I know they're not just a 10 and a14 yr old car, they're special, but that was the bottom line to me, they're just older cars...unfortunately I can only own one car, I'd love to own all three!)

Yeah, the ZR1 has more horses, but to me , all the other benefits of the C5 outweigh that, and the LS1 is easily modd-able to match or surpass the HP of the LT5...

Unless you're into the collectability of the GS and the ZR1, which are two very cool cars, I'd say still go with a C5, the driving experience is worth it!

I have to echo these statements. I was choosing between a C5 and NSX when I got my vette, and the interior and build quality are much better than Chevy's. That said, C5 definitely has more punch when you put your foot on the gas . And they're a lot cheaper. Make sure you thoroughly test drive before you buy though. Only you know what you like.

Oh, and this forum and the people are better than any other forum on the net.

The NSX is an example of incredible precision. Hand-built in limited quantities... The Corvette is a great car, but still a mass-produced car made by GM.

You'd be hard pressed to find an interior piece mis-spaced, or a body panel that didn't quite line up, or a squeak, or a rattle... in an NSX. They are marvelous cars.

I think this is an unfair question.First the two cars are completely different cars. I presently have a 90 coupe. It was my first. Iam planing on getting a C5 this July because I want to. I just want a newer car. I love my C4 even though I have put a lot into it. GET THE CAR YOU LIKE BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONEYOU WANT. I realy hope to be able to keep my 90.

C5 has much more cargo space, much more legroom and no high door sill to climb over to get in and out of car.

In 2004 my finances perked up and I finely test drove a C5. Well I couldn’t get my order in fast enough! The C4 is a good car, the C5 is a GREAT car. There is no comparison.

IMO hold out for a C5.
Had both. totally agree. Some don't like the look of the c5 vs c4, thats the only reason I would accept. The C5 is light years ahead of the C4.in every other aspect

Not to be blasphemous but you should look at a C6 while you're at it...
