You have no reason to change it. You'll have plenty of life lert in it when yo get back. As long as you don't do a top speed run for half the trip. The synthetic will probably leave you with more life than what shows.

There is absolutely no need to change your oil.
Your car should get 10,000 miles out of Mobil 1.
Most of us don't drive that much, so we change once per year.
Even if you change it immediately after you get back you will still be at 5,000 miles and 7 months.
So save the money, enjoy another dinner in Florida and change it when you get back.
Mobil1 has been in since last July/2000 miles. I'm going to drive it down to Florida in 3 weeks, a 2500 round trip. Car runs perfect, but sits alot. It should be ok, eh?
It should be fine. However, I always like to change mine before a long drive. No reason. Emotional.
