Default Airbag Control Module

Airbag control module, where is it actually located in the car and are there any places besides a stealership to get one?

i believe it's mounted on the tranny tunnel under the a/c control head.the part is gm only, requires coding and security access[needed to marry to car]which is only done through a tech II and the program gets downloaded through gm's site

I have one out of a 02 Z06, I am making a track car out of it so I don't need the air bags any more.

Default Airbag sensing module

dpd is correct about where it is and what is required to "marry" the new module to the car's configuration. Trust me,-it's very important that the part number is correct for the VIN number of your car, since I found out the hard ($) way. After installation, the car's BCM must be reprogrammed by use of a Tech II scan tool,(Dealer), to 'marry' the info. Otherwise, the airbag system (SRS) will not test or operate properly. If you want additional info, PM me and perhaps we can communicate by telephone. Incidently, I have a couple of spare modules, if any are compatible with your VIN, we can work out a deal.(Cheap).
