Default Coolant Leak ?

I have a small coolant leak on my 03 Z, I did a search and came up with nothing but leaks under the Throttle body but I do not beleive that this is happening here.

for the past week or two I put it in the garage for the night and in the morning, there is a small amount of coolant on the floor near the inside of where the passenger front tire was (maybe 2 or 3 tablespoons) i looked under the car and see no active drips. initially I thought this might be a resivoir overflow thing but the res is gettin low. The transverse spring seems to be slightly wet with it on further inspection.

Any ideas? hose, Waterpump etc?

I am going to Jack up the car this weekend to see if I can find the culprit

any thoughts would be appreciated

I had leaking coolant as well, except mine was much worse.

See my thread here.

The culprit was a bad water pump.

Jeez... I made a cursory inspection of the WP and nothing jumped out at me unless it is leaking from the bottom. I wonder how hard it is to replace the WP???

It looked like mine was leaking from the bottom as well. But, it was very steady, not a trickle. Is yours still under warranty. I don't think it should be too big a deal to do it yourself, but if it's still under warranty, just have the dealers do it.

They even kept my car inside the whole time. When I picked my vette up from the dealer, there was a big sign that read "MUST STAY INSIDE". That was great! I just used the California Card Duster and cleaned up a little with Zaino Z6 and away I went with the car fixed.

Look for traces of coolant around the lower weep hole on the water pump. Also, water pump leaks can be intermittent. I had one that was hard to track down until it finally let go and coolant was running out.

A water pump is probably about the easiest thing to change on the C5. Shop around for the best price on an AC Delco pump. Some parts places carry Delco as an alternative to buying at the dealer.

Are there many Engineering jobs in Flower Mound, TX??

It takes almost as long to get all the old gasket cleaned off as it does to do the rest of the job! (If you do it by hand, and don't use a wire wheel)
