Welcome "newby". When you DO finally get that vette, I guarantee, you'll never look back, unless it's to see who you just 'smoked', heh, heh, heh.

Darren and welome to the forum. You can't go wrong with the C5. Have a look at this thread (a sticky here in C5 Gen.)

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...7&forum_id=103

Good luck with your search for that perfect C5 for you. I can assure you that you won't regret your move to the 5th generation Corvette. These are truely awesome cars. You'll get all the mod advice you need here, as well as pretty much anything else you need. You've found the best site on the net for Corvette knowledge. As an aside, these are some of the finest folks around. Have a look around all the sections of the forum and don't be afraid to ask questions. We were all new once (despite the fact that some forget.)

Hold the Phone folks we have a winner. 87SAM nailed it. Take your time, start shopping now, then when you pull the trigger, you will be amazed how the driving pleasure will GROW, not decline with length of ownership.

Deal.

The only thing keeping me from getting one now is I dont wanna pay so much for insurance yet, but I wouldnt really consider it un-affordable

I duno I think its better that I wait that way I have more to put down (interest free payment) and I wont rush into anything. Either way you can be sure Ill have my eyes peeled for C5's (not that they havent been peeled for corvettes since I was about 15 or so)
