Hey guys, I just joined the forum today, you will probably see alot more of me soon
I currently drive an LS1 trans am, with a few goodies, nothing major. I like to pay for my cars with cash, not a big fan of financing so right now Im about 2/3 of the way saved up to upgrade to a C5 this summer.
I post alot over on ls2.com under another name, but I have a feeling the closer I come to my C5 Ill make my way over here pretty often. Im pretty much clueless when it comes to modding a C5 and Im sure mine will be stock for a while, but anything you guys wanna let me in on with regards to C5's, especially shopping for one like what to look for and what to avoid, would be appreciated.
good luck getting a C5 stick with it and make sure you get the one you want they are out there it just takes time
Yea I wont be able to get one until May at the earliest because Im moving out of the apartment hellhole and moving into a home, no way Im buying a vette and parking it outside to get teh sprinklers like my poor T/A
Welcome aboard..
Reach the stickly at the the top of this section called weights, measures, ratios etc
I covers a lot of know issues and fixes for the C5
but if you are a pay-by-cash type of guy, I hope to god you don't get mod fever! :-)
I wont have enough to pay for the C5 cash most likely, but Ill atleast have 60% or so, so I wont get raped on interest, and I wont have to pay for it for too long.
My main problem with car shopping is that I get impatient and tend to rush into the first one that I think is a great deal. Although I have never planned this far in advance for a car purchase, so Im hoping it will be different this time. My last 3 cars have been LS1 M6's, and I think I wanna go auto this time for some reason

Welcome !! I started my journey in March 1998 with a 1998 Camaro Z28 six speed with the then new LS1 and I am one of the founding members of the now rather dead www.ls1.com
In Feb. 1999 I traded up to a 1996 LT4 C4 vert and joined the brand new founded Corvetteforum.com, went on to buy a 1996 LT1 C4 coupe in 1999 and then my current 2004 C5 in Jan. 2004 ... the rest is history as they always say ..
Welcome
I suggest you start looking now, that way when you’re ready to buy, “some” of the newness will be gone. This way you’ll know what you want and may not jump all over the first one you drive. I know, I’m the same way!
