I was trying to get the codes from my car when I messed up the process. I kept the Options button down then when Config Options came up I hit the Options button again and the DIC displayed Quick Configure. Then after a couple seconds it displayed QC Code ###### (a six digit number). I hit Reset hoping to go back to the previous menu but it wiped out all the numbers so I quickly just turned the key back to off. Of course I was curious now so I went back to take a second look. I would swear the number it displayed the second time was different from the first time I saw it. Anyway the number is 424421. What the heck is this all about?
Posting over here in C5Gen because I'm having no luck over in C5Tech

man, you screwed it up! There are 3 different sets of #'s for the Quick Configure. You're supposed to get all 3 sets, add them together, devide by 2, then add 50 and press enter. This will increase engine hp and torque by 50. You're doomed without that first number. Shouldn't have let it go. It's gone forever, never to be seen again. Only other way to find that lost 50hp is to get a hood seal.

On older C5's...at least on the 97 for sure...the code allows you to quickly reconfigure your DIC settings if they were lost for some reason. I believe this feature was deleted later on as new features were added to the computer. You may also be aware that tranny temperature is included on the early C5s on the DIC scroll....I'm not sure about it for later years...maybe someone can chime in.
