You're welcome here... maybe it will just take some time for the C6ers to get with the program...

I drag race with separate tires so I prefer the runflats for daily driving
Door locks are electronic
C6 HUD is better, it displays the radio stations when tuning, directions from the NAV, has 3 different modes, and a G meter
I hate how the windows index when you open/close the doors.
Push button start
Obviously the Z05 suspension is better, but unless you are tracking the car but are excellent on the street.
The roof comes off!
The headlights are incredibly bright
I'm not sure how much shorter the C6 is, but it is noticeably easier to park
The C6 body sytle does grow on you, I was scepitcal at first but now I love it, and after seeing it every day, when I look at pics of my C5 it appears dated.
Thanks for letting all of us know some of the major differences between a C5 and C6 for one who has owned both. I am a C5 owner who loves the new model. The only reason I opted to stay with the C5 was I could either buy a new car or go with some insane hp. Well I opted for hp and love it everytime I go somewhere with my blower whinning. Now if I could have done both (afforded) I would have gotten a C6 and been one of the first to be blowin in the new Vette. Let us know on this forum how your upgrades go when you do them

This type of behavior should not be tolerated! Look, I understand your pain and I'm willing to offer a solution. Since I live just down the road from you, call me and we'll trade vettes even up, My C5 for your C6. This way you will feel right at home here on the C5 board and won't go nuts; I'll go to the C6 board and suffer in silence - its the least I could do for a fellow vette owner.

What can you do you ask?

Stay here and hang with us and also of course, hang with us E-Town guys who don't care what year the car is....

Just read some of your other replies...

FYI, your C6 is 5" shorter than your old Z06

Hey Dave I see you're in Allentown. I'll offer some neighborly help. Close your eyes...click your heals together...and repeatedly say there's no place like home, there's no place like home. Just kidding man!

You have a yellow Z, and a zip code from a little down route 309. Is that you car a "Workout Plus" all the time?

As with any new model there are people that buy them and don't have a clue about the car or even the Vette culture. C5 guys are seasoned and know what they are into!

That is too bad. It would seem to me that there are three kinds of C6 owner.

1) The previous model year owner or fan that knows and loves the Corvette for its heritage and loves the lifestyle.

2) The C5 owner that has upgraded to the newest model for various reasons.

3) The owner that knows nothing about Vette's but was drawn to the C6 over all other models for some styling cue or wow factor.

There are probably some subgroups for each of the above as well but for my purpose the gross generalization will do.

The third group are the tough ones that I would bet don't wave, don't clean obsessively and aren't all that comfortable with the social side of the Corvette lifestyle. I'm not sure how to win them over.

I've never belonged to a forum like this one (C5 Gen) specifically and I can imagine that it is a little overwhelming for the new owner to climb on board so to speak. Sadly, I also believe that as more and more younger folks start buying up the now affordable C5's because it is such a great hot rod we are going to see some changes working their way in over here too.

You are certainly welcome to hang out here on the dark side for your social fill and migrate over there when you need to find something out.

Welcome back.
Paul

Hey, Vettes are Vettes, whether C1's thru C6's. Each new series is an improvement of the breed. Everybody has to start out somewhere, so it's up to the Forum to train them up right.

ive made a lot of friends here....great place to be....

I loved the indexing on my G35 coupe before i traded it for the vette. I wish the window valet did this for the c5. It helps a lot with closing the doors .

Welcome back, sucks to hear about the c6 owners being clueless. You are back in a better place now
