[Z06] New best mph

New best mph
Went to a track in Gainesville yestersay with my 04 Z06 and turned best times of 12.39 @ 118.31mph and 12.46 @ 118.38mph. The car still has the original Goodyear F1's with over 19k miles on them. Needless to say, the back tires were worn out and I could get no better than 2.2 60ft times on them. I wanted to send the tires to their grave on a valiant effort so I kept them on the car.
I wish I would have got some better tires before the event because the weather was absolutely perfect for dragracing. My previous best mph was 116.1 on 2 different runs last year. With no mods since then gained 2mph with better weather.
Only mod to the car to date being "zip tie" with paper filter. Thing was pulling like a beast yesterday!

Wow, that's awesome MPH for a stock car in FL. I agree, the weather was super here yesterday (I'm abt 1 1/2 hrs from the track).
It was really windy yesterday as well. I believe the track faces east--maybe the tailwind helped too.

Yes, we did have a good tailwind too. My buddy was also there in his 03 Z and he lacks alot of seattime at the track. On his first run he slaughtered his previous best and ran a 12.54 @ 116.8mph. He was looking for his 1st 12 sec pass and also his mph best before was like 113.
When I saw his mph I was thinking it would be a fast day!
Especially since my car dyno'd 10rwhp more than his recently.
Hopefully the weather will be great again when I go back next month to try out the nitrous on my old truck. That thing could really benefit from a tailwind!
