an even trade for my 2004 silver z06 3000 miles for a 1995 viper with 15,000 miles...... would you do it?? im kinda tempted -especially after he fired it up <both cars are stock.>-what should i do? ill probably keep the z but im on the edge...
IMHO, the Viper is a much worse car than what you currently own. Do yourself a favor and rent one so you can get it out of your system, and then go back to the "good life" with your Z06.
In my business I do work for dealers. If he is making you this offer it is because it is in his best interest, not yours. He knows he can sell your Vette a lot easier than the Viper. How many Vipers do you see on the road, there's probably a good reason. So you get stuck with an s---box and he can recoup his loss on taking the Viper in on trade. Why would you want to get rid of a good car anyway for a POS problem car?
From: Los Angeles, CA.... I know a guy who has a Lambo with Corvette doors
Well, I guess it's not a GTS, so personally, I wouldn't have had an ounce of interest. Now if it was a GTS, there would be pros & cons, but mostly cons as far as I'm concerned.
Value wise, you are talking about roughly the same #s, but your Z06 is probably worth a little more.

Before getting my Z I took a close look at the viper. The Z can be used on the streets, but bad weather, especially snow or ice, starts limiting its use. The viper struck me as mostly a track car. I like getting mpg with the Z that surpasses SUVs and some other cars. The viper was much worse. I like taking occasional weekend trips with the Z. With the viper you can't even offer a woman a ride home from work if she's carrying a purse. There was also a big difference in the level of comfort in the two cars. The viper was a no frills race car and nothing more.
Some vipers can out perform a Z, but you have to visit a track to see it. It won't happen on the streets unless you're doing something stupid or illegal. Of course it is not often that you get the chance to let the Z loose either.
I believe that the viper and the Z are designed for people with very different life styles. The viper is impractical as a DD whereas the Z can usually get by. Examine your life style and what you want out of a car and this choice should make itself for you easy. The viper is one fantastic looking car though.
Keep the Z.. The viper is horrible for around town driving.. especially the older ones... The inside heats up big time, very noisy and its not good noise... ride is terrible... The Z is so much more friendly for everyday use..
Besides... who wants to drive around in a clown shoe..
