I have owned a triple black 1966 B/B Convertable since 1995 ....love the color & have a 2007 Black & black top w/red interior on order..............it is a tough color with dust & pollin > but in my opinion Rejeck works great my 66 has 3 coats on her & nevcer looked so good......just 2 cents from the wise dog..Woof
Build up your arms, hands, and legs, and clear some days on your calendar. The glory makes it all worth it, though. If I could recommend anything, it would be to try for a different color or custom interior, like what I plan to do in the not too distant future.
Just get it professionally polished once a year, use non-abrasive wash mits and towels, wax/polish with whatever you like, and you'll be fine. It is a pain sometimes, but in the end it's worth it. By the way, these wagon wheels go BUH-BYE this spring!
I've got two black on black Vettes - if you're willing to invest the time and use the right products (clay, polish, wax, microfibre, etc.) then you can't beat it. The C5's have horrific organge peel, though, and this will show up badly on black regardless of what you use. I'm planning on getting my Z06 wet sanded by Spring to get rid of the OP. Go black baby!!!

After reading all the posts about how hard black Vettes are to maintain and keep clean, I feel compelled to offer a counterpoint. Black is no harder to wash then any other color. Dirt comes off just the same. After owning 3 black vehicles, I am well aware of the need to give some extra care in washing and polishing so as not to add visible scratches, etc., but once you get the necessary equipment such as microfiber wash mitts and towels and get a good wax or polish on the car, the work to keep the car looking good is not that much more than other colors.
True, some lighter colors allow one to go further between washes if you choose to since the dirt doesn't show as much, but this doesn't mean that the car shouldn't be washed anyway, the car is still dirty, it's just that the the owner can go a little longer between washes.
Any extra work that a black vehicle requires is due to the effort that goes in to getting the car to a high degree of lustre and brilliant shine. However, this is an option and not a necessity...it is a matter of personal preference. Sure, this approach does take work, but no other color shows the benefits of this kind of effort like black does and so the extra work is well worth the effort and can be easily maintained with detailing sprays, etc. Black responds to highly refractive polishes and waxes more noticeably and effectively than most other colors and therefore is worth any extra effort that may be involved.
My .02 worth anyway!
