Default Borla for a UK vette

Living in the Uk and having a vette can be hard work.
I want an after market exhaust, a Local company will only stock Borla, Ive heard of them but are they any good? I want proper american muscle V8 sounds, which is the best one to get, does anyone have any clips?

You're going to get lots of different opinions with this question. I have the Borla Quad Stingers and I love them. It's the agressive V8 muscle car sound you are looking for, however some folks complain of the in-car drone. You can check out some sounds at http://www.ls1sounds.com but as I'm sure most will agree, the best way is to find a vette event in your area and listen to the cars you see there. We vette owners love firing up our cars for others to take a listen to.

Borla is what I have. It has a deep raspy growl.... The American V8 sound in my opinion. They are 100% staniless steel. The cans and tips are polished. They carry a 1 Million mile guarantee. Some complain about a drone(resonance) and about a burble when you lift off the gas.

Corsa's trumpet and sound more like an Indy car (substitute F1 if not familiar with the Indy car series). they are not quite as loud and the pitch is higher, but they seem less subject to drone

Billy Boat is similar to Borla but a bit more raspy and louder. Some say they bark versus growl.

It is alll subjective.....

members has posted links to sound clips in the past.
Search the forum and you should find a number of them.
finding live events in the UK for comparison will be difficult.

A IRL car and a F1 car DO NOT SOUND ANY WAY THE SAME. Something about running a engine to 19,000 RPMs.
I agree that the Corsa's will sound more like a IRL car.

l80ous,

Have you got a good local MOT checker who'll turn a blind eye come MOT time?

I have B&B Bullets and love the sound. They are loud, but they are bad to the bone as far as sound.

Borla is a good brand and the sound from the exhaust is nice. B&B also makes some fine products - I have the Route 66 exhaust from them on my car.

B and B Bullets do sound great but are a little loud to tolerate every day.

Depends on what you want, I have stock on my C5 at the moment and am hesitant to change it as I put a Magnaflow system on my C4 and although it sounded great outside it resonated like mad inside, drove me mad!

Be carefiul with your choice, drone can become tiring!
