For me owning a Corvette was lifetime ambition which I didnt think would become reality. That I managed to get a Vert was the icing on the cake. Mag Red is one of my favorite colors.
I love the C5 and the C6 doesn't do much for me.
I've done a few mods to bring it to UK standards to take it back to UK. The rest of the mods have been mainly cosmetic. I just love the lines of the car as they are.
I wish I'd been able to get an MN6 but it was the color and a Vert or the MN6 so it was an easy choice
I say I'll stick to minor mods but that's hard to do. And I feel like with every little mod the more unique it becomes, which makes me think it might be harder and harder to sell down the road. So I look at it this way: I'm going to do the things I like, keep the car 5-10 years, ann enjoy every mile (and enjoy the process of working on it/tinkering with it.)
I'll drive mine til it wears out (and at the rate I'm going, that won't be long ) and then get another one ... probably a C6 'cause the C7's won't be out by then.
I waited through three children and two different career paths to own this vehicle. Have wanted a corvette since I can remember. Honestly, I bought the C 5 because of it's looks, you just can't beat those smooth lines. All of the models look great - got the coupe for several reasons (mainly price). When I drove it - I fell in love..... I'll have this toy for a very long time. And with the outstanding support of this forum - I expect to enjoy it for that long as well.
I totaled my receipts the other night and have put nearly $24,000 into my car. I figure I can easily spend another $15,000 - $20,000 on it to make it go a little faster. It's my dream car and I have no plans of selling it or getting something else.
I've modded the heck out of my '03 black coupe. This is my first vette, and I'll probably keep her a long time and do a few minor mods to her over the years.
I had a '04 spiral gray coupe that I traded in for a '05 mag red coupe. Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb move, and I frequently regret doing it. When the '05 is running well, she is a nice ride, but she's given me more trouble than I could possibly imagine, and I've had to invent lots of new curse words to refer to her.
