Default tire pressure needs service?

My tire pressure reads FRONT LXXX I hope this dosent mean I need a new sensor. Ok how much do they cost and where can I get one It seems like one thing after another fist my knock sensor then the oil pressure gauge now this. o well

Go to C5 Tech and do a search on Tire Pressure or Sensors and you'll find a kazillion threads on this subject.

Pull the codes, it might explain the problem.

Presume you know a 1999's will not display pressure until driven a bit.

ALso,sometimes re-learning ALL the wheels has been reported to fix the problem.

I had that same mysterious thing on one....... air it up to say 42 or so then let the air out down to around 29 or so and the sensor magically worked perfectly again........ weird

It sounds like a bad sensor to me but other smarter guys will chip in.

First thing to try would be a full relarn to see if that helps clear the problem.

From what I hear the replacements are about $85 each

Your pressure sensors can be 8 years old depending on when they were made...Many 99 C5's have date stamped sensors saying made in 1998.
IN any event they are reaching their life's end. The cheapest place to buy 99 sensors are from Gene Culley at Fred Beans A supporting forum vendor.

You could go to Ebay, but I would be concerned about ebay and dated sensors. You could buy three or four year old sensors from ebay.
