Default title?

it takes 4-6 weeks in Los Angeles to get your title when you purchase the car, is there any way to fast track it and get it sooner?

Move to Virginia...
They print the title out right there at the DMV and you walk out with it. I still don't understand why all DMV's are not this way. All the information is in front of them on the computer.
You'll have to wait on the "snail mail" method it looks like.

If you bought the car from a private party, it will take from 4 to 6 weeks from the time you submit your paperwork to DMV.
If you bought from a dealer, it will take from 4 to 6 weeks from the date they submit the paperwork, so it could be significantly longer.

Dealers often only submit paperwork to DMV once or twice a month, so depending on where you are on their "schedule", you will get to wait.

As far as I know, there is no way to hurry California's DMV, unless you walk into an office and shout "Coffebreak"... you will be surprised to see the dead come back to life.

Take it a DMV service there is a way to get a 3 day title. I know there is a fee.

I think it takes 2 weeks or so in Texas. Wish I knew of a way to help you out.
