Napa sells them in Jax, I heard from my buddy at goodyear that they are made in the same factory....who knows.....the red tops look better the way I see and they dont fail
I just got a battery tender the other day. The directions say red/positive to red terminal post, no problem. Black/negative to the frame on metal on the motor - NEVER hook negative to negative terminal post. Problem - tender wires are only 12" long. Where do you hook the negative??
Neg to neg is fine. The reason is you want no sparks on top of a battery. Hook it up then pull it in.

I don't think I would bother with an Optima in a Z06 unless I had a really strong aftermarket stereo. I'd just go to Sears and pick up a DieHard on sale.
The original OEM battery in my 02 Z06 is still good and I don't use the car that much (9000 miles). The DieHard in my daily driver is also about 4 years old.
