Unfortunatly I have the same problem and I need a new EBTCM as well. But I have no warranty. It actually broke when the car had a little over 35k on it but it was over the 36 month mark. I bought the car used so I didn't really have a dealer to help me out. Fread Beans is the cheapest I can find a module at $665.00. I've been driving for three months without ABS/AH/TCS and there's been a couple of times I could have used it. I can't put it off any longer but if anyone hook me up with a better price it'd really help out. I just had to buy tires too so that wasn't exactly cheap. Thanks for any help.
...and it turned out that one of his reps had transposed the code when he typed in the problem and that GMPP will cover the module and valve...
I understand that people make mistakes, but this is just another example of someone not doing the job they are paid to do.
If you hadn't had someone that DID care about their job and customers enough to really check it out, you would have been screwed like so many of us get because of someone not doing their job.
Sorry to be but poor customer service is just a major sore spot w/me.
Glad everything worked out for you.
very lucky indeed - i had a similar problem but they discovered it was just a sensor but after they put it back together and ordered a new one the problem went away
I'm sure you'll want to take care of that service manager come next Christmas!!
You bet... I brought him a couple old monitors that I had in the garage and sent a little card of appreciation to let the other folks there know that he's the reason they have my business... A little care & effort, a little customer service & good will and being reasonable with your customer go a loooooooong way...

Glad it worked out for you, My extended warranty will expire this April on my 01 and I hope nothing major happens. Like Grumpy said, it's always best to get an 2nd opinion.

I wonder if you can get another warranty after the extended warranty...
Let us know when you get the car back that everything is fixed. I have heard of dealers changing things and charging lots of $$$ and it still had problems. Then it turned out to be nothing more then a bad grounding issue.
