Gee... wonder why I get at least one PM a week asking me about my lights and where to get them, guess nobody likes them.

I like the black because when you paint it body color the black gasket around the lens edge really stands out.

The gasket REALLY SUCKS! its like glued on I guess, what a mess I took it off to get the covers ready to paint and they are friggin glued on!
did you glue them back on?

I actually stumbled into my set being sold used here on the form a few years back allready painted black... I got a hell of a deal.

whoever is getting theirs painted...could u guys please let me know what kinda paint they are using. im going to try and do these myself. also, are u guys painting under the lense or on top (ie outside).

DRJJ1: guess what buddy, u de-valued your vette the day u bought it! as we all have in our own ways... but when we have taken off our old headlights, its not like we threw them in the tras....mine is wrapped in bubble wrap, paint is protected, and in individual boxes. she is going to stay that way for a while! So relax bud! our C5R lights are reversible!!! LOL

I was going to do them myself but the thought of not getting them tapped off the same bothered me.
I was told to use RC car paint you know the paint they use on the clear lexan car bodies.You can get it at hobby stores.
I am having them painted under....

OK I put the cutoff plates back in last nite, made a little difference, the paint shop will have my lens done tomorrow I will see if I can get the template they are going to use to paint so if anyone wants to try it on their own I can send it to ya.
The paint shop had a NICE 66' Malibu w/a 396 it was getting painted 72' corvette yellow! lol

Steve that pic is cool are those hid's?

Dean I would be very interested in using the template if and when you get it back.
I ordered a set from Specter Werkes about 7 weeks ago and as told 4-6 weeks for delivery so they should be coming soon.
I was told they’re taking longer to get the kits out because they’re reworking them to make fit better and to eliminate a lot of the problems they were having with them.
