Default oil reading on dic

I have a "low oil" message on my dic for about a week. Im at 3000 miles since my last oil change. I have a 02 Zo6 and the dipstick reads full. Would the fact that its a dd and that If put these miles on since late Nov. cause this?

Would you take your car to the dealer for this?

Thanks

I would not think that daily driving should have anything to do with it, nor should the 3000 on the oil. Do you park your car on a slope most days? The car can and will show a low oil if parked on an incline for a period of time. If you are showing full at the dipstick I would not be too worried about it. Just as an aside, what are you showing for oil life remaining? Have you reset the warning? Does it return? Give us a few more details if you can.

I have had the reading while the car is parked on level ground as well as at incline/ declines. The first time I saw this I reset the oil capacity reading, it was at 88%.

Since it's been coming back while my car parks on level ground I suspecting some electical gremilin/ clitch.

Do 2002 vettes, Zo6's have history of sensor problems?

The fact that the car is a DD and has 3000 miles on the oil should not be the problem. Especially if the oil is reading full. Isnt there a sensor that keeps track of the oil level? If so, then maybe it is acting up. Or, there is an electrical glitch somewhere. Hope you can figure it out.

Mine just started doing the same thing this weekend. Haven't driven it in about 3 weeks.....started it up and I got the low oil level warning. Checked it.....about 1 1/2 quarts low. I filled it up and then drove it for about 20 minutes......but the "low oil level" warning kept coming back. Everything seemed fine while driving.....just kept getting that message even after I hit reset on the DIC. Just FYI......car is garaged and totally level while sitting.....

Anybody else with any ideas?
