Default Not my taste for sure...

if you want to get right down to it,

I have these shoes, my friend has a 89 countach and he HAS to wear these or go barefoot because of the pedal spacing.

http://www.shoes.com/productimages/shoes_is56744.jpg

these are comfy and fit the image of the vette , IMHO

no offense, but those shoes on that other site look like
grandpa loafers.

Michael Toschi Sebring Lite Driving Shoes (For Men) Pedal-gripping wrap-around rubber outsole
Item #77359 Sale Price: $71.96 Price: $89.95 Reg: $395.00 Save: 82%
- another 20% and 0 shipping=$57.57

The other lace up shoes sold out. If you have a large foot (12.5) and you go on long 6-8 drives you learn to appreciate being able to feel the pedal, brake and clutch.

I should have said that I did not mean the loafers.

so yes, this is a serious post.

There really are such things. Driving shoes have rounded heels so that you don't cause excessive wear on the mat/carpet. The soles are pliable enough to feel the pedals. They're not terribly comfortable for walking around in, though. Mine are by Donald Pliner.

I wish I knew of a place that I could go and try a few different makes on. I'd hate to buy some on the net and then have them not fit. And I didn't know there were so many brands for driving shoes. But I am very interested in getting a pair for autocross this year.

Just WHERE to you guys drive in these "all the time" - because I want to be sure and NOT be in your way! Looks to me like they are no more than glorified tennis shoes - something you may wear so people with notice you!! To each his own - enjoy - I'd just rather have money in my pocket instead of on my feet!

Michael Toschi is an excellent Italian shoe, all but pricey as well. I have a pair his dress shoes with the Carbon-lite footbed...extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, they do not have the Black Driving shoe in my size (14). Pliner or Toschi...you can't go wrong with Italian made shoes. I have a pair of H.S.Trask driving mocs that I use for non-track driving, it's almost like driving bare-foot.
