I'm inclined to agree - just buy a new battery. Before you do - do a search and read one of the gabillion threads that have been here about which battery to buy, do your research and then pull the trigger.
Also - while you're in the buying mode, get yourself a Battery Tender and next time hook it up if you are going to be not driving the car for an extended time. You could also simply disconnect the negative (black) lead so that the battery will not discharge.
