Can a C5 Z06 hardtop be lifted on a two post lift (9,000# four arm asymetrical BEN-PEARSON)? I can go with another four post lift, but I prefer the versatility of the two post models.
I'm planning my new shop for our new home under construction and researching lifts again. Do the C5 Corvettes have specific lifting points which are safe enough to use on a lift? Thanks!

I don't know much about the various lifts, but I assume the lifts could be set so that the Z06 could be lifted from the areas where jacking pucks would be inserted.

But, can the arms of the lift get under the vette given the low ground clearance? The manufacturers usually provide a minimum clearance in the detailed specs for their lifts. I'd measure carefully and ask.
When I had to get some warranty work done, the dealer had those two post lifts and they had to use pieces of 2x10's to drive the Vette onto first and then put the lifting arms under each jacking point.
I purchased a a lift from ASEDEALS.COM MODEL # LR60P P=portable for my garage. It's low enough that when I'm not using it I park right over the top of it. For $1300 bucks you can't go wrong. Raises the vette 26" off the floor. Got the idea from another forum member and pulled the trigger on the lift. To easy to use.
Oh, and it lifts my Z just fine...just make sure you use small wooden blocks on top of each arm.
YOU ARE THE MAN!!! Seriously, you are an inspiration to us all.
Dang, I wish my wife would let me buy a lift like that... Or let me smoke cigars in the house... Or s... never mind
This kinda reminds me of an anecdote of a buddy of mine:
My buddy Bill is a major gear-head. Builds racing engines, has a flow bench in his garage, car stuff everywhere. He had a girl living with him and she got tired if him spending so much time and space on his cars. She told him "You need to get serious about our relationship, you need to chose either me or your cars". To that Bill replied "Start packing".
Is it difficult to change out an exhuast or install a stiffer tunnel plate because of the cross member?
Hi Blue -
If you are talking to me, and about my lift, and the red bars that support the weight of the car -
Nope - the car is clear and free of any obstruction to working on the underside- the red bars only protrude slightly further than the rocker panels on each side.
