Default Poor throttle response...normal?? No way

I've been posting about some power loss that I've been experiencing and have been going crazy trying to pinpoint what exactly is going on. Here is what I feel now:

- The throttle response of the car has deteriorated it seems. It means that the power does come as soon as I hit the gas pedal, but a moment later, split of a second, but it gives a feeling that the car isn't as responsive anymore. And it gets a little worse as the car warms up. Someone told me its normal in vettes, is it?? It didn't seem like it before when it drove fine.

This is not normal.
How many miles does it have? A good tune might be a solution.

Good luck!

Its a 2001 with 36000 miles. I don't think tune-up would be required so soon and moreover, if it was the tune-up, wouldn't it be constant poor response all the time?

Could it be the clutch??? It did get a little soft a couple of times last week but hasn't done anything weird lately.

Has the throttle been checked to make sure there arent any sticky points? This happened in our old boat. Does the power come on normally when it does kick in? If not check sparkplug connections ect. It COULD be the clutch not grabbing fully for some reason...but that would be consant I would believe. I agree that a tune may be a good idea if these are ruled out, but hard to believe with only 36k miles. It is definatly not normal, as ive been in C5's that have 100k miles and the throttle was still extremely responsive!

Also, maybe post in tech section, someone there might have more knowledge! gl

Oh and the weirdest thing is that it kinda started happening over a period of 1-2 days and didn't develop gradually.

Why do I my cars have problems that no ones every had...

Hard to say if it is not actually bad yet. I'm sure it would if it was fully failed...

Your on the right track...first thing I would check is the fuel filter, then the plug wires, then the plugs ( stock plugs have been known to drop a puck), then the MAF (mass air flow sensor) then the TPS, then the fuel Pump for pressure...

Good luck

Peace
Willfulone
