A4 Question
I just put my B&B Bullets on my 97 coupe. I love how they sound! I have found when I shift the gears myself it sounds SOO much better. I wind them out a little more(never redlining) and i was wondering if this will hurt my engine. It has almost 95000 miles ok it. I do not want to shorten the lifetime of my engine, BUT i do want the awesome sound of shifting myself. BTW, Replacing the A4 with the MN6 is not an option for me (at the time)
Thanks
Doug
I've been doing this for 6 months since I installed my Stingers. Other than burning through gas a little quicker, no ill effects noticed on my end. Wind it out and let 'em hear it!
That's why they put 4 gears in it. Upshifting it puts less stress on it than downshifting. Most of the same acceleration sounds you can get by just leaving it in 3rd and the resonance should sound great as you accelerate and deaccelerate.

THAT is what i wanted to hear! How about downshifting it, is that bad??... a little new at this, although i did put them on myself, just dont want to mess something up.
I am with ya I love shifting to hear the bullets sing. I have had no ill effects after shifting for 6 months. If you down shift comming to a stop light those bullets really start to talk around 3500-4000 rpms.
