I had a 95, liked it, but my 99 is light years ahead of it and I don't miss the C4 at all!

I really liked the C4. However, as mentioned above, the C5 is definitely more than an improvement. Good luck to you.

Started with a 94 here. It got totalled. Insurance bought half of our 2000, but would have paid for a replacement 94. Completely different, better car. No regrets.

Had a beautiful '85. Bought it in '87. Everything had been rebuilt at least once. New paint, interior, wheels, exhaust. Not heavily modded. It had 180K miles when I sold it. It was going to need a new motor in a year or so, it had some smoking. Since I had a C4 I really didn't see the need for a later one. Generally, they look the same. Immediately after selling the car, I started looking for a C5 and found one. I don't regret it. I love my new/used car. '98 Pewter Convertible 6-spd., blk top, blk interior with chrome C6 wheels.

I sold my '89 and '95 to get my C5, and I miss them both terribly. Don't miss the Blose in the '89 and the opti (replaced three times) in the '95, but the tighter interior, less refinement, view over the hood, and better seats still hold appeal for me. It I ever run into a perfect '90 (L98, original body style, newer interior) I'll probably buy it. Wife still has her C4, but that doesn't count 'cause she won't let me drive it. C5 is great for what I bought it for (street cruising), and I'm glad I got it. But I could still be happy with one of the C4's if they were in the same shape as my new one, which they weren't close to. Keep the C4 for a while, that way if you do decide to sell you'll be sure it's the right thing to do.

I also have both, I just could'nt part with my LT4 and I know it wo'nt get driven much(only has 7500 miles) but it has a whole different feel to the 98. Love the looks of both cars the 96 is a coupe & the 98 a vert. Drive the 98 way more but that dos'nt mean I like it more, love them both.

I'm on my third Vette. My first two were C4's (an A4 '92 vert, first one, and a '92 MN6 coupe, second one)

I was torn between getting a '91 ZR1,or a '96 GS, and then at the last minute changed my mind and got a C5 ('00 FRC) Thank God I did! I figured if I'm gonna lay out this cash, why not get a better car, I had 2 C4's already!

The C5 is light years better than the C4, do it you will not regret it! I test drove the C5 I have now, and after 2 mins of driving it, I said "SOLD"! to the salesman, also I couldn't beleieve how nice it was getting in and out of it. Its just a way better car, period!

Went from a C3 (76) to a C4 (84). After a couple of years, I ran into a deal I couldn't pass up on another C4 (92). Finally bought a C5. Glad I did. No comparison on the technology.

I have a C4 and C5. I use the C5 as a daily driver and use the C4 to cruise on the weekends in summer with the top off.

Default C-4 > C-5

Loved my C-4 with the top on, hated it with the top off. It was
a completely different chassis. 96 coupe A4.
C-5 is so different in character, no chassis changes with the
top off, great performance and comfort. 00 Coupe A-4.

In 2000, I bought my first Vette, a 94 MN6 Convertible with the optional hardtop. I then sold it 9 months later (DD that would not cut it with Illinois winters). Loved the C4. I could always tell a major difference when I put the hardtop back on, the car felt much more solid.

Last summer, I bought a 2001 MN6 Convertible. As many have mentioned, the C5 is easier to get in and out of, the convertible has much more storage space than the C4, and in my opinion, I like the looks of the C5 better than the C4. The convertible top seals much better in the C5 than the C4. I no longer have the water issues as I previously had. The C4 did have a more compact feel, which I do miss. Overall, I would not go back to a C4, but I sure loved the one I had.

Default Pro's and cons !!!!!!!!

The C4 96 LT1 coupe was more comfortable and the leather was a higher grade for sure. The 96 cost me zippo in repairs and was in minto condition and was cheap compared with the C5.

The C5 is a wonderful vette from 2000 and up. It is not a quick and darty as the C4 and feels less like a vette should be.

The C5 Z06 appears to have it's problems because most of the vettes for sale are Z-06's l wonder why?

My C5 is my first. First memories of vettes were my dad's C3's. C4's were out while I was in high school but way beyond what I could afford.
