Default new low beam bulbs

i have an 01 z06 and i want to get new headlight bulbs, i want a bright, clean white, not the cheezy looking blue/purple FAKE HID look, it just cuts down on visibility i know. let me know what bulbs you would reccomend.

I'm new and all so I shouldn't say this... but search a tiny bit at least before asking.

Here is at least 1 good thread:

There are 4 or more out there. i know cause I had the same question as you and did a ton of reading here on CF.

I got the high beams and saw a little improvement... but they're supposed to last longer than conventional bulbs.

I bought Sylvania Silverstar high and low beams, available at WalMart and auto stores. They're whiter, but not HID-white. I think they look normal from the outside. They're a direct replacement ... just swap bulbs (but it's not the simplest job in the world because of tight access). The numbers are 9005 and 9006, I think.

Yes, they should be a direct fit. The cost about $35-$40 per pair ... total of $70-$80 at WalMart. I've seen others mention getting them for a little less.

I didn't notice a spectacular improvement, but they are some better.

Don't bother with the Silverstars. Another member went from stock to Silverstars, then finally to PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs, which are definitely white.

I ended up going to the PIAAs and it's a world of difference in color. Very white, no blue at all.

I went two steps further:

1) Modified 9005s to fit in the low beam slot. Easy mod.

2) Added a relay so my lows are on at the same time my highs are on. Also an easy mod.
