Vette Doctor just put in 4.10 rear gears in my 99 ragtop. Still doing the break-in, but I would have saved a lot of money if I did this mod first (Vararam, Kooks, cat backs were already done).
The other mods were noticeable and the sound is great, but the 4.10's made it feel like a 75hp gain. And that's not getting over 60mph with no hole shots.
What RPM would 80mph be in 6th gear with 4.10s? Anyone know how to figure that out?
4.10s sound sweet.
I used to have a link to a site that you could punch in the gear ratio- tire size- MPH and it would tell you the RPM and vice versa. I will look around for it. If I find it I will post, but I have had 4.10's in my '99 FRC for 2 years now and love them.
I am guessing it would be around 1800 -1900 RPm though. I usually cruise down the road at 70-75 and run around 1700-1800 rpm in mine.
I have to agree. Best mod that I have ever done to the car and well worth the money
This is a mod that I'm looking into, sounds like you got some great results. If you don't mind posting can you let us know what it cost for the parts and labor?

How is that possible? With my 3.15, I turn 2250 RPM at 80... Then again, mine is an A4 and that's probably the difference right there... Oop! Never mind!
If you have a stock car or modded upto 450ish rwhp nothing can beat 4.10s. Period! When you hit 3500 RPMs it feels like you are spraying 100 shot of juice Feeling is just totally unreal.. You wont believe how fast your RPMs will go from 3500 to 6500 with your tires smoking in 1st and 2nd. I currently have 4.10s in my car that I just bought but they are a bit too much for me, even though I love them
I am going with a different combo and mine should be up for sale as soon as my new combo arrives. If someone looking for some A&A 4.10s (complete differential) for a great price, I will be listing them over on parts for sale section in about a couple weeks. Look out for it

Thanks Stephen. You are the man. I couldn't for the life of me find that link.
And mdchaser- I bought mine from Dyno-Tech also about 2 years ago. They were running a winter special and the gears (complete core) with core exchange was around $900, I added the hardened output shaft ($300) and had it installed by my local mechanic ($600) Total cost $1800.
My car has been dyno'yed at 345 RWHP and 359 RWT and will run the 1/4 consistantly at 12.3 with a best time at 12.191 @ 114 MPH. Makes the car not only fast ( cause I can still get 150-160 mph out of it on the road course) but very quick on acceleration.
