Catback B&B Install Question
Installation instructions says to "disconnect the negative battery terminal...may allow the computer to 'clear' its memory during installation".
What will this accomplish? Is it a necessary step to take?

Installed a few catback exhausts - never disconnected the battery. This must be a CYA thing for product liability.

I used to write for Mitchell Repair Manuals. 99% of every repair or remove/install procedure we wrote began with the phrase "Disconnect the Battery."
In cases where the system being worked on is non electrical, it's more of a CYA and a method of ensuring the engine does not start inadvertantly.
