Challenged!
Well it finally happened. A girl here at work that has a 05 mustang gt asked if I wanted to race. I told her that I don't race anymore. If I were 20 years younger it would be on. Hers is bone stock, not sure if auto or manual. Mine is also bone stock 97 auto. I think I would take her (all other factors, drivers, etc. the same) but it would be a good race. Did I forget to mention that she has had numerous tickets and about lost her dl several times? Wonder why?

Unless your tranny is slipping, the plugs are fouled and the catalytic coverters are plugged up, it should be a win.

I agree - but do it on the track, not on the street.
If you have an A4 and a 2.73 rear end, it will be a close race.

I also had a girl challange me in her 05 Gt mustang. I told her I do not race on the street and invited her out to the track. I told her I had not gotten a ticket and dont plan to(i got one a week ago, speeding) she tried to sound mean and said it was chipped!!!! The sheriffs down here have the 05 GTs too. They are quick but up against our stock c5s they dont hold up.

Typical GT owners......
I had a red one pull up next to me, we took a nice corner and after he caught back up at the next light he said, he admitted he had an 01 vette and just got the 05 stang GT cause it was new and looked good
but that the vettes are much faster........really?? duh
I couldn't believe he went from a vette to a new rustang GT or not.......definately has nothing in the looks department over a vette, that thing is huge.

The race is unimportant it is what you get when you win!
I am an old fart and about a year ago this young pretty thang pulled in to the gas station next to me with a older Mustang and asked if I wanted to race! I never hesitated and with my best dirty ole man smile asked, "What do I get when I win?" And she, without hesitation slapped me! All I could do is laugh! It was not a hard slap and the impish smile on here face spoke volumes! I invited her to coffee and she accepted!
First, I would have never raced her on the street and second, well, we'll leave second up to your imagination! It was a great day for man~kind!

One of the guys I work with took his navigator in for service so he got an 05 GT 5-speed for a loner. I took it for a run. I was not impressed. Did sound good though. No comparison to your vette. Give her a go .
