Hey, If your not racing it, and you don't go to car shows to win prizes... I would do the same tire all the way around... when your talking about a $250+ tire.... rotating the tires would be pretty economical wouldn't you say? 99.99% of the people looking at the car wouldn't notice and unless you drive like a maniac or on the track... you wouldn't notice any performance differences...
Put as big as you can go on the front... and duplicate that tire on the rears.... now you have a "normal" tire you can rotate and save your money for other mods... thats what I will do if I buy rims/tires
Actually, I plan to race the car a lot, that's the reason I'm going 18's front and back. I will keep the stock heights, so the rear tires will be bigger than the fronts. I'm told that the C5Rs and C6Rs use 18's, they look pretty nice.
I'm a little late entering this thread, but I am about to buy CCW Classic 17x10 front and 18x11.5 rear. I will put Nitto NT01 275/40-17 in front and 315/35-18 in rear.
Can anyone tell me if I will be able to clear my brake cooling ducts in the rear with this tire wheel combo??
No... the 18x11 that I have is the bigges you can go while keeping the rear ducts. With CCW's 11.5" wheel you can fit a 335 tire and only have it stick out a smidge, but you must remove the rear duct.
