Default True or False regarding Fix-A-Flat

I was told that there is a FAF that works with the sensors and does not kill them.
Is there any truth to this?
I bought a 12V compressor and plug kit that does just fine.
Just wondering.

I'm not sure about that. I carry a can, as well as a plug kit and a compressor. I would only use the FAF if all else failed. Better than leaving the car on the road.

I've heard that the green "slime" tire sealant would work without costing you the sensors. It does require that you remove the valve core from the stem. Anybody have any experience with this?

At PepBoys where I worked many moons ago, the service department would always ask if FAF or an equivalent was put in the tire. One installer said he broke the bead on a tire and got the goo splattered in his eyes and wot-not. I'm not sure if this was or not because I have never seen it happen. When I bought my C5, the dealer sent me to Big Chief auto in JAX, FL to fix a problem and they had to pop the tire off the rim... with the question about FAF being posed. They also said they charge a little extra if this is the case. Anybody had an experience like this? It was a first for me.

I'd be surprised if the Green "Slime" was ok for the TPS. I use it in the kid's bike tires and the riding lawn mower tires (which have tubes) and it makes a mess! I have had it seal up the valve stem! YEP! I would not use it except as a last resort in a Corvette tire!

I think there is a hole in the TPS inside the tire which lets the TPS determine the pressure. If the hole gets plugged with sealant, the TPS won't work. Clean the hole out and you're in business again.

YES! In general, tire service outlets will charge more to service a tire with Fix-a-Flat. FYI: The Fix-a-Flat (FAF) product has been highly contentious, especially in the nineties when various lawsuits were brought against a number of the more popular FAF brands with even television news exposure highlighted to warn the consumer against the potential for severe injuries, explosions, and, burns that may be incurred with the use of such a product. Please refer to the following thread for a brief commentary on FAF products. Please keep in mind that this information is offered only as a goodwill gesture to help to share the knowledge, and, to better inform those, and, any consumer interested in FAF products:
