Alight guys, lowered car last week on stock, well, just did'nt get "the" look of the posts I have seen. Just went with 7 inch bolts in rear, oh yea, "that's what I'm talking bout". Fender height is same all around, i.e. no rake. Overall totals, went down 1" in front, 2" in rear. Looks very sweet now.
Now that I have found the sweet spot, drove it, front handling (steering) is different, not as loose, or light if you will. Takes more effort to turn wheel. Ride appears no different.
Any specifics on re-alignment, should I tell the alignment guy to set up any different at this point? Just go back with stock specs. Any problems in handling or other areas with zero rake?
THanks in advance.

BTW if ya gonna lower it all, go all the way! Pics in the morning!
to me, and although u didnt ask my opinion im gonna share it, the same fender gap all around looks kinda funny. these cars were built w/a rake and look natural w/a rake..to me when the front is same height as rear it looks like the rear is loaded down and saggin and the front is raised...but may just be my perception.

Do you have a pic? I'm interested to see what it looks like with twice the drop in the rear than front.
This is my car lowered on stock bolts and retaining the rubber spacers in the front. I won't go any lower. Look at the front of my car. Do you notice anything?
I have the same setup and back to the origonal question i had it set to stock specs and it rides great for me. I went with a little more gap in the rear than up front, but not by much, I think its raked a little less, i personally like how it looks like this
I'll bet it looks a lot like mine...I'm running a similar setup....
Yes, it does look very similar to yours, ( nice). The front on mine does appear a little more space between tire and fendor, but, I have a full set of 18" all around coming which should fill more of the front. 275 frt and 295 rear. CCW's should be here by Wednesday.
If not I will raise the rear until I get an even space front and back. The neat thing about this mode is it is different, costs under $10 in my case, takes less than15 minutes to adjust if you don't like.
Hope to get some pics on here today, although WX is rain/possible snow, 34 degrees, sux. It was 72 last weekend, I think California, and / or Hawaii is calling me!

I am kinda thinking I may wind up with about 1 1/2" in rear, leaving just alittle rake, and a little more gap in front. I like your setup too, looks like the reds have got it going on....
My main goal was to not wind up with that 4X4 look. And thanks for the alignment answer, we kinda got deveated a...
Yep.....used the A&A "C5 Lowering Kit"......ie really expensive longer bolts......
Does the kit use the same rubber in front? Or does it go a little lower i.e. is it a thinner bushing?
For what it is worth, I picked up 7" grade 8 zinc coated, ny-loc nuts, washers, used existing rubber, for $ 8.50.
STAY OUT OF LOWES and HOME DEPOT for car parts!
These lowered C5s look outstanding! My question is, the black plastic wind deflector thingy under the nose... Surely you guys with the lowered C5s can't go over ANY kind of a speed bump, right? If I buy a C5 (long story) I'll HAVE to lower it. But just pulling into my driveway, I think it'll scrape. (and it doesn't have a curb at the end of the driveway)
So let's hear it. Is it impossible to drive these things on public streets sitting that low??

Yeppers. You'll scrape on just about everything. You just have to be aware of that fact and be careful. Public streets aren't a problem, parking lots and driveways are.
The deflector is a sacrificial piece of plastic. When it gets worn down, just get another one (they are cheap).
And the driveway story... my driveway is really mild and still my unlowered daily driver scrapes. My "R" Vette really makes a whole bunch of noise :o . Such is life.
P.S. My unlowered daily driver is getting lowered this weekend. Hey... I've only had it a couple months. Mods take time.
