I just pull out my fuel pump fuse up under the hood, next to the battery, when I'm really concerned about the area I'm parked in. I also do this when I don't drive my car regulary so I can pump up the oil pressure before I start the car. If your'e somewhat lazy or short of time, this might not work for you.
An aftermarket alarm that sends you a page if your car is being tampered with, whether its a radio signal or a cell phone page. Then you can go and meet the thief in person if your close enough (this encounter will vary depending on the bad guys mood ) Although you will have to sleep with the pager for it to be effective.
I have the VIPER 5000 with inferred...let me know when someone is near it..rach in and it goes off, stand too near it i goes off ..pager alarm..works great...
Still true...the kill switch will keep someone from stealing it because they can't start it..which will get most thieves, but if someone has a roll-on it won't matter. Just like lojack, it will tell you where it is if they haven't already taken it too far and disassembled it too much.
They sell battery disconnects with a small wire and fuse that keeps the memory alive while the large cable is disconnected. If someone tries to start the car the small fuse will blow.

I've been using this successfully on my car for a couple of years now without any complaints!!! It's even reduced my insurance rates and allows me to get rest and relaxation without having to worry about my ride!

QUITE FUNNY! They have in Europe security systems that have an unsharpened steel blade that swings out, or an actual flame thrower below the bottom of the doors, although these are used mainly for carjackers.
If your car is a standard shift, you will find a HUGE plastic switch
up by the root of the clutch pedal. That is the clutch safety switch.
Cut ONE of the wires leading to it about 2 inches away from the switch.
Splice in a simple 12-volt toggle switch on a LOOOOOOOONG lead and
hide it anywhere you want.
Now, in order to start the car, you need to step on the clutch AND flip the toggle.
I've been using this setup in all my cars for years, including my C-5
